Centroamericanto Fest 2020 goes virtual, worldwide, free and with more artists than ever!


Fabiola Roudha

Since she was little, she began her career in Guatemala sharing the stage with artists such as: Eros Ramazotti, Pimpinela, Alberto Cortés, Gloria Trevi, Armando Manzanero, Stratovarius, among others.
She has two published albums: Esta soy yo (2016) and Más Allá (2018)
Throughout her career, she has been invited to share her music and her experiences in different media and programs around the world.
Her music belongs to the Pop Soul and Pop Blues genres.


Pen Cayetano

MBE painter, singer, songwriter, percussionist and guitarist is the leading cultural revivalist and ambassador for the Garinagu. He was born in Dangriga, the cultural capital on the south-central coast of Belize.
Punta Rock, the new musical sound which combines the rhythms and sounds of traditional Garifuna music with elements of modern rock, was created by him and made famous through his Turtle shell Band.
His lasting legacy, however, lies in his lyrics, which gave the political, social and economic issues of the Belizean Garifuna people a global platform, and along the way inspired a new generation to apply their talents to their own ancestral forms and unique concerns.
He published five albums and received many awards and performed in Mexico, U.S.A and Europe.


Alberto Laínez

Honduran singer-songwriter, founder of Proyecto Aullador, an acoustic band (Piano, guitar, Latin percussions and Garifuna instruments) performing unpublished ecological music that describes the natural beauties of Honduras through his experience in the field as a professional in environment and development.
In 2016 he released his first album entitled Aullar Por La Esperanza. Alberto Laínez and the Aullador Project have shared the stage with renowned Latin American artists such as Guillermo Anderson, Perrozompopo, Francisco Barrios (El Mastuerzo), among many others. In 2020 he is making his Corazón de Horas tour in Latin America and Europe.
His musical influences are: Calipso, Soca, Ska, Reggae, new Latin American trova, Jazz, Parranda, Punta, Latin American folk music, among others.


Luis Pastor

He is one of the most prominent Nicaraguan composers and interpreters of the Son Nica and the Nueva Canción. His work, like that of most Nicaraguan authors, strongly ventures into the social sphere, although he has some compositions dedicated to promoting the national.
Throughout his musical career, he has recorded several video clips, including the video of the song that he composed in greeting to the visit of John Paul II to Nicaragua in February 1996 as a young expression of the Pope’s welcome.
Currently, he is a member of the Association of Nicaraguan Songwriters (ASCAN), made up of the most representative Nicaraguan composers.


Melena

From Costa Rica, she is a marimbista and singer-songwriter, she began her musical training in the Basic Stage of Music in SantaCruz, Guanacaste. In addition to the marimba, she masters instruments such as the guitar, the flamenco cajon and has training in popular singing. She has been a percussionist on national and international tours with the Compañía Folclórica Caña de Azúcar. She participated as percussionist in the short film “El Funeral”, winner of the International Shnit Short film festival (2014). She currently participates as a vocalist in “La Quinta de la Calaca”, is part of the Feminist Percussion Ensemble “Tocá el Tambó” and tours with a show of her own called “Cuenta la marimba”


Mai-Elka Prado

From Panamá, she is the founder of the Afro-Latino Festival of New York. She has directed an  annual  multi-day music festival and conference celebrating the contributions of people of African descent from Latin America and the Caribbean. As cultural organizer, her work is focused on developing cultural platforms that unite multicultural audiences. As a singer-songwriter she has done many music collaboration such as vocal tracks for acclaimed Afro- Colombian artists Petrona Martinez, Carlos Vives, Toto La Momposina, Magin Diaz and Bomba Estereo. As an artist, her work has been focused on the exposure of Afrodescendant music sounds  from Latin America in the city of New York. 


Folklore y Ritmos de Panamá (FRP)

Folklore y Ritmos de Panamá, a non-profit organization, registered in the state of Texas with a long history of 19 years spreading its culture through its dances and traditions. It has served as a cultural link with government agencies, educational institutions, civic organizations, and private individuals throughout Texas and the United States. They pride themselves on building a high quality repertoire containing pieces from different regions of the country.


Mauricio Callejas

An Austin based singer-songwriters from El Salvador he sings about daily life, simple things that happen right before our eyes. Mauricio has released five albums and has performed in different venues in Latin America, the United States, Spain, and Canada. He is the founder of the first songwriter directory of Central America, www.centroamericanto.net, produces a weekly radio program about Latin American songs and is the founder of Centroamericanto Fest.
